Relating module to what I’ve been thinking about on our current network is a layout or a better design on how the networks should be setup. Even though cost is always a factor in our business, there is always a way since we run all Linux servers except for a couple in our internal office. Our main shares are always getting filled with Junk that should necessarily be there (downloads, etc) and it needs to really have a monthly cleanup ran so that we don’t run out of space. I came up with an idea to do a questionnaire similar to what we are now doing in our class now and wanted to possibly see how the users on the network feel. Questions like:
How do you feel the network runs, is it up to expectation?
Do you have the proper access to the files you need to get to?
Do you get network errors?
How often do you contact helpdesk?
I also have planned upcoming maintence to help new users on the network. I typically rename icons to make it easy for the user. For example, rename the “outlook” icon to say “Email” since not all users are familiar with outlook and rename any shortcuts that say “shortcut to” to the proper name of the application.
